skylar system y'all/they #
Hi! We’re skylar system—a plural system recently diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). That means there’s more than one of us (called "alters", we prefer “headmates”) sharing one body and life.
Want the long version? ⮕
a bit about DID #
- Dissociative Identity Disorder often forms in early childhood as a response to overwhelming or repeated trauma.
- Headmates can have their own sense of self, gender, sexuality, memories, roles, and preferences.
- Switching between headmates can be involuntary or intentional. It may happen in response to stress or internal needs, but it can also be part of conscious collaboration and system functioning.
system members #
✨ Zari they/it #
Most frequently fronting, and who you know best. Practical, kind of the default in public, especially when we're masking. Nonbinary, asexual.
🖤 Ethan he/him #
Gay trans guy. Assertive, flirty, protective. Co-fronts with Zari often.
💖 Melanie she/her #
Transsexual woman. Very feminine, loves traditional roles. Hasn't been fronting much lately.
🧒🏼 sky she/her #
A little. Shows up when we're overwhelmed. Childlike and vulnerable.
🌀 Flux it/its #
Not fully defined. A blend, or a headmate still forming. Still emerging.
If you're ever unsure who you're talking to or want to check in, feel free to ask! We really appreciate curiosity and care while we recontextualize our life and learn how to live as a system with DID. 💜
